Childhood Story

SHARE

Once upon a time there was a child smiling at me letting me be
Once upon a time there was a child holding my hand helping me stand
Once upon a time the child disappeared
Leaving my side, playing run and hide
Once upon a time I went looking for her
I looked everywhere, I looked everywhere

Time is a word I don’t understand cause you’re holding my hand

Once upon a time I started living on my own
I had a roof over my head, shared a carpet and a bed
Once upon a time I didn’t feel so alone and I started making friends
Having conversations on the phone
Once upon a time I forgot about you I held myself by their hand,
Helping me stand
Once upon a time I remember you, I looked at the picture in the frame
It is never the same

Memory is a word familiar to me cause you’re all around me

Once upon a time a child whispered in my ear
Don’t leave me back here
Don’t leave me back here
Once upon a time I held a child really tight,
Never letting go. Never ever letting go!

And freedom is a word I don’t understand cause you’re holding my hand
And freedom is a word I don’t understand cause you’re holding my hand
